    Joint Legislative Study Commission on the
    Modernization of North Carolina Banking Laws

    Senate Bill 555 was passed during the 2011 General Assembly and authorized the creation of the Joint Legislative Study Commission on the Modernization of North Carolina Banking Laws . The purpose of the Commission was to determine whether and to what extent the North Carolina Banking Laws need to be updated.

    Meetings of the Commission were held on November 21, 2011, December 19, 2011 (Summary of Articles 1A-3A), January 20, 2012 (Summary of Articles 4A-5A), February 14, 2012 (Summary of Article 6A), March 6, 2012 (Summary of Article 7A and Article 8A), March 27, 2012 (Summary of Article 9A and Article 10A), and April 26, 2012.
