Pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. 132-1, public records are the property of the people. However, certain records held by the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks (NCCOB) are confidential pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. § 53C-2-7(b) and other applicable laws.

The NCCOB attempts to respond to such requests within 30 days. However, processing times may vary.
