Notice of Application for Consumer Finance License

 

Fastlending.com, LLC, headquartered at 2017 Fiesta Drive, Suite 201, Sarasota, Florida, has filed an application with the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks to make and service loans under the North Carolina Consumer Finance Act.

This notice is being provided in accordance with Title 04 of the NC Administrative Code, Subchapter 03E .0101(b).

The NC Office of the Commissioner of Banks will review the North Carolina Consumer Finance Act,

discuss frequently cited examination violations, and share industry best practices.

 

Registration is limited to 100 registrants and 5 per licensee.

Future sessions will be offered.

Today, the North Carolina Office of the Commissioner of Banks (OCOB) published a memorandum to provide guidance related to the selling of credit insurance policies by licensees and the collection of related origination fees pursuant to the North Carolina Consumer Finance Act, specifically N.C.G.S §53-189. The memo is available on the OCOB website at Collection of Origination Fees Associated with the VSI or CPP Insurance Policies.

Licensees should review the memorandum and perform all due diligence to confirm that any fees collected comply with the relevant insurance statutes or the master policies that have been approved by the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

North Carolina’s Assumed Business Name Act (ACT) has changed.  Any certificate of assumed named registered BEFORE December 1, 2017, will expire on December 1, 2022.  If you desire to continue using an assumed name, you must register a new Certificate of Assumed Name and pay the $26 fee BEFORE the expiration date.  Once expired, the assumed name cannot be used until a new certificate is filed in accordance with NCGS, Chapter 66, Article 14A.
